Is This Thing Working?

Good Riddance 2021

Time to say good-bye to one of the craziest years of our lives, both personally and professionally. When they say "unprecedented", it's not hyperbole, it's reality. Businesses closed, people lost jobs, employees laid-off (not knowing if there will be a job to come back to), businesses scrambled to stay afloat, families separated, and worst of all, we lost so many lives (and sadly, some were alone at the end).

Here at DANIMA we were hit hard in early March and April, however, we were one of the lucky and we were able to bounce back. Much of that was the initial help of the government and, for me, it was a few close friends/colleagues who helped me start thinking outside the box and focus on some great new ideas. None of it would have been possible without a great staff and all their help (Davey D, Chloe, Connor, Jin). Now, heading into 2021, we have grown by one, and have a great, talented team to move us forward.

I count our blessings every day, but it's not lost on me how many of our clients are suffering with the lockdowns and restrictions due to this damn pandemic. Restaurants with limited to no capacity, venues closed, accommodations with no bookings, musicians who can no longer make a living touring and playing, Casino workers with no idea what is in store for the New Year, and so many others. It's heart-wrenching and it's frustrating to watch friends and family going through this – if you are a DANIMAL you are family!

It was especially sad to see one of our favorite DANIMALS, Oh Canada Eh, close their doors due to COVID. A shame!!

Seemingly there is light at the end of this long, long tunnel, but in the meantime, my thoughts and prayers are with those DANIMALS trying to make it to the other side! We want you to all know that we are here for you and we will assist in any way we can. Like I said, we’re family!

I want to thank our great new team headed up by Davey D (Jenny, Ken, Jin and Connor) for their tireless work during these crazy times. Working remotely and doing zoom staff/client meetings is a new experience for all of us, but you guys made it all work and it’s appreciated more than you know!

I also want to thank all of you for trusting your business with us. We appreciate your business and our partnerships! I wish all of you a safe and Happy New Year. Most importantly I wish all of you health, happiness and a speedy economic recovery in the months ahead!

We'll get through this...together and we'll be stronger on the other side.

Stay well and we'll see you in 2021!
